Suppose you want to read a blog but it updates only once a week or sometimes once a month. Don't bother thinking about going back to check it. Let it come to you. My trick with RSS is to treat it like an inbox: do not subscribe to any high-volume feeds.
My problem with books was letting them all pile up in my Amazon wish list, but never having the commitment to buy. My process now is
- Hear about a book
- Immediately download the sample to my Kindle
- Reach for my Kindle when I want to read
- (Eventually) Get to the sample and read
- Buy or delete
